Advantages are that you get more guilds, more people in cities and trade chat, and a healthy economy (though that is not faction-specific). If you are a new player, I would never join a pvp server as it will remove your appetite to play when you will reach level 30ish. It’s more of a self-contained place as opposed to other servers that have a ton of connected realms and CRZ in open world. Nowadays, Alliance rules this server with over 70% of the realm's population. The server has its benefits and drawbacks that go with any other server. Good servers: WOTLK expansion - just a few servers (search threads on this, Gamer District, Lordaeron) Vanilla: Light's Hope or Kronos. TBC: Netherwing. MOP: Tauri, Evermoon.
